    Mission

NACDI amplifies and advances the Native American Community's vision for a vibrant future.

Our work is founded on the belief that all American Indian people have a place, purpose and a future strengthened by sustainable community development.

    • NACDI initiates projects that benefit the Native community, often in partnership with other Indigenous-led organizations.
    • Our future is bright due to the resilience and vision of our ancestors
    • Founded in 2007, NACDI is approaching its second decade with a renewed commitment to the Indigenous values that helped our people persevere despite centuries of hardship.

  • Financials

NACDI endeavors to be a good steward of the funds we receive from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals. Part of being a good steward is transparency, so NACDI provides our detailed tax form 990.

  • Our History

NACDI was founded in 2007 to address the growing challenges and opportunities facing the urban Indigenous community. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, NACDI celebrated 10 years of service in 2017.

Poised to grow as NACDI begins its second decade, we know we will see more changes in the next 25 years than we have experienced over the past 100. To thrive in the midst of global change, the American Indian community must be unified and agile, work in partnership, eliminate deficit-driven methods, and invest in comprehensive asset-based strategies.

NACDI is committed to transforming the American Indian community to effectively respond to 21st-century opportunities. NACDI works to promote innovative community development strategies that strengthen the overall sustainability and well-being of American Indian people and communities.
